Important information about recruitment fees

You will never be charged a placement or recruitment process fee. If anyone asks you to pay for this, they are not an approved hiring partner of P&O Cruises – do not use them.

Before starting an assignment with P&O Cruises, crew do have to pay upfront costs for essential compliance documents and training (VISAs, STCW course etc). P&O Cruises cover most of these costs and they will be refunded once your assignment begins. You may also need to cover the cost of personal travel documents, like your passport.

To stay safe, only apply for roles directly through this website or via one of our approved global hiring partners listed above.

Our approach to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recruitment

P&O Cruises is proud to be a forward-thinking organisation that embraces innovation. We know that AI tools are increasingly used by candidates to help prepare for job applications and we welcome anything that helps people feel confident and ready to apply.

To make sure the recruitment process remains fair and inclusive, and to help us get to know the real you, we ask that you follow a few simple guidelines when using AI tools during your application journey.

What’s OK

You’re welcome to use AI tools to help you draft your CV or cover letter. We understand that these tools can support you in presenting your experience clearly and confidently. Just make sure everything you submit is accurate, truthful and reflects your own skills and experience.

What’s not OK

To ensure we can fairly assess your judgement, communication style and skills, we ask that you don’t use AI tools during any online or in person interviews, assessments or tests.

What happens if guidelines aren’t followed

If we identify prohibited use of AI during the recruitment process, your application may be rejected. After you’ve started your assignment, if it’s discovered that you used AI during the recruitment process it may be treated as gross misconduct, which could lead to dismissal.
