Over the past few months, Emily’s taken part in some unforgettable crew tours and volunteered as a Shore Excursion Escort—experiences that have shaped her time onboard.
From adrenaline-fueled zip-lining through forests in the Caribbean and Norway, to peaceful snorkeling tours in Barbados, Antigua, and Grenada, Emily’s found joy in every kind of adventure.
Working as Youth Staff with P&O Cruises, well-being isn’t just about quiet moments of rest. Sometimes, it’s about embracing an adventure.” she says
But it’s not all high-speed thrills. Emily’s also enjoyed slower-paced excursions like catamaran cruises and swimming with turtles, plus a serene fjord cruise to the Seven Sisters Waterfall in Hellesylt.
Even simple activities like exploring ports by crew bike have made a big impact. Emily’s cycled to the famous horse statues in Haugesund and along the coastal path in La Coruña to visit the Torre de Hércules lighthouse. There’ve been icy dips in Norway, beach time in the Caribbean, and hikes up Flaam waterfall with friends from the youth team.
“One standout moment? The Stingray Sensation Tour in Antigua. I got to hold and feed stingrays in crystal-clear waters. I’m so grateful for such an unforgettable encounter.”
“For me, well-being can be found in small moments that help reset and recharge us for work. By staying active, exploring ports, and embracing new adventures, I can provide the best service for guests while also looking after my own well-being.”
Thank you to Emily for sharing her experiences. Whether it’s a big excursion or a quiet moment in nature, adventures ashore are a powerful way to boost well-being at sea.
