Work with the Staff Electro Technical Officer and lead the testing, maintenance and repair of IT systems and equipment both hardware and software onboard ship to the highest standards, in both guest and passenger areas. Proactively manage, prioritise, escalate and/or resolve incidents related to Ships IT systems including Network Infrastructure, Applications, Desktop, End User Hardware, iCafe, iATV and VSAT.

  • Manage open incident queues ensuring regular updates are provided to users and shore teams and liaising directly with vendors where required.
  • Manage Service Request queue – ensuring all SR’s are delivered within SLA (including software and hardware.)
  • Supervise and train IT Technicians where required.
  • Join Project team as Ships IT SME for large projects (such as newbuilds and refits.)
  • Follow and actively promote IT Security and compliance process and procedures on-board – raising awareness where required.

Work with the IT Officer and assist with the testing, maintenance and repair of guest and crew IT systems and equipment. This includes repair or replacement, reporting faults to shoreside via systems and to the Senior IT Officer where appropriate.

Prioritise, escalate and/or resolve incidents related to ship’s IT systems including Network Infrastructure, Applications, Desktop, End User Hardware and iCafe as directed by the IT Officer. Assist with management of the open incident queues ensuring regular updates are provided to users and shore teams, and liaising directly with vendors where required.

  • Complete user Service Requests as assigned by the Technology Officer.
  • Proactively monitor key applications and hardware – resolving or escalating issues as required.
  • Carry out proactive maintenance of ship’s IT hardware (incl. card printers, MFD’s etc,)
  • Ensure all ship’s IT inventories are maintained including in use and spare equipment – following the RMA process.
  • Assist with the security and fault-finding of ship’s IT systems where required and directed.
  • Follow and actively promote IT security and compliance process and procedures onboard.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in accordance with all current safety and company regulations and provide assistance to colleagues as required.

Leading our IT Department on Arvia and Iona, the IT Manager will provide technical direction and leadership for a team of high performing IT Officers and IT Technicians, who are committed to delivering unforgettable holiday happiness for our guests and providing exceptional operational support for our crew.

Ensuing that high quality IT systems support, advanced troubleshooting and maintenance for a complex, technical environment is delivered consistently and within SLA. Our goal is to be proactive, to minimise downtime and recover services brilliantly when necessary.

The IT Manager will ensure the IT team maintain an optimum level of technical and operational knowledge to deliver exceptional day to day support, providing a seamless operation. This includes guidance on establishing impact, priority, goals and objectives to achieve both growth and excellence.

The role will focus on service management; ensuring that incidents are resolved as quickly as possible whilst also making sure that accurate and timely records are maintained in the ticketing system, keeping customers informed and updated of progress. Providing safe, secure and reliable operations, while seeking out opportunities to delight our guests and shipboard colleagues.

The IT Manager takes the lead on high impacting incidents, liaising between the appropriate ship and shoreside teams, providing high quality and timely updates to shipboard management and senior stakeholders.
